Best gay movies with happy endings

I hope one or two of the titles I've mentioned will be gratifying for you and your friends. I've seen all five of those titles, and they're all good, so don't rag on me, but think outside the box and go for something that's not necessarily all the rage. With all due respect - and I sincerely mean that - there are more movies out there worth seeing than just Weekend, Shelter, Beautiful Thing, Carol, and Brokeback Mountain.

Some are obscure and hard to find, but do some digging and try to see something new and different. There are hundreds of other gay-themed films out there that are just as good and just as unique. If possible, guys, read up on them, and if something sounds cool to you, try seeking it out. That's a baker's dozen choice picks off the top of my head, encompassing a multi-faceted view of gay, lesbian and queer issues, lifestyles, and culture from around the world and across the decades. Some of my other favorites would include O Fantasma, Lonesome Cowboys, I've Heard The Mermaids Singing, Female Trouble, Luster, No Skin Off My Ass, Love Songs (w/ Louis Garrel), Johan (Fr/1976), Saint Laurent, My Life On Ice, Head On (Greek, Australian/1998), Mala Noche and Show Me Love. I'm also a big admirer of Maurice, which, as R4 mentioned, is not just a great gay film, it's a great film, period. I agree with R38 Happy Together is a poetic work of art.
